Death by Medicine
This is alarming, I can hardly believe it. Though I disagree with a lot of the medical approach, I do know that there are times when it can save your life. The problem is how often you can win the medical lottery, receiving good treatment and getting a successful outcome. It is also true that, because people are individuals, not every treatment will work as promised. Remember when you were taught that every person, like every snowflake is different? How this fits in with statistically- practiced medicine is hard for me to understand.
My issue with the profession is that they often over-promise and have too high a regard for their own common, but often untested (and sometimes dangerous) 'cook-book' practices. Time for them to find humility and work for their patients instead of their egos.
